And a Standard Pennant taxi in the same pic! Which was quite rare (uncommon) in Bombay, although they were far too common plying in Madras back in the day!

Maybe, the same car is seen again in this picture from Gateway

An identical Plymouth in this same distinctive colour combination of red and black is seen in the movie 'Anita' and 'Raat Andheri Thi'. The number was a commercial series, BMR, making it a tourist taxi. The car from Kartik's superb picture is MRA registered, a later private vehicle registration of the 1960s. I wonder if this is the same car that later got registered as a private car. The badge on the door is an immediate match.

That Mark 2 Amby plate looks to match this car seen in the movie Waqt. This curved placement of the letters was commonly seen on Ambys in Bombay at the time.
