Thank you! I wish was able to dig up the registration numbers for both cars. Would be amazing to discover our old family cars still around. Unfortunately the pictures are the only things we have. No other details as to when they were bought / sold, etc.

I am still sorting through the pictures, so I will hopefully find a few more to share.

I am assuming this is a Calcutta registration (7000 series). The only Daimler I can find is registration number 7010 in the name of Sir H. Goenka Bahadur, 71 Banstolla Street. This is listed as a 6 cyl, 7 seater.

The car looks similar to the Surguja car which was a 1919 / 1920 Type 45. So I would date to your car to approx. the same time.

Sir Hariram Goenka was my great, great, great grandfather and 71 Banstalla Lane used to be the family home. Can't thank you enough for digging up this gem!

Picture from 1934. My grandparents wedding. My grandfather is the groom in the picture, at this Kodava wedding. The 1926-27 Dodge in the background belonged to his father-in-law!

Coorg was part of the Central Province, hence the CG Registration


The original owner Kuttetira Subbaiah is seen in the rear right.

Great pictures, please ask for more history of the family, the olds seems to be Bombay registered, while the Mercedes is Karachi registration.
