Aside, I somehow reckon that horizontally wide numberplate would've had a lot of things- and people- bumping into it and getting hurt rather badly!
Apologizes if shared before, just got this pictures of Kemps corner in 1964, before the flyover was built.
Some interesting pictures with cars from the Book on Field Marshal K M Cariappa, written by his son Air Marshal K C Cariappa

Field Marshal Kodandera "Kipper" Madappa Cariappa, OBE (28 January 1899 – 15 May 1993) was the first Indian commander-in-chief (C-in-C) of the Indian Army. He led Indian forces on the Western Front during the Indo-Pakistani War of 1947. He is one of only two Indian Army officers to hold the five-star rank of field marshal; Source |

The R-R in KartikeyaL's post should be the
Monghyr / Munger Silver Ghost, Chassis 69TW. It was an ex-Viceroy car.
It has been seen in both a light and dark colour with silver filigiree decorations.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
And this is 69TW as it is supposedly today. I do not have any confirmation of identity though!
