A photo covering a cycle race probably Bombay to Pune. Could have been anywhere inbetween the 1930's to 1950's.
That car looks like a Mercedes 170V.

This is my post no. 1000, I wanted it to be special so here it is, picture of my family's car , this is a 1929-30 Chevrolet and my grandfather is at the wheel, picture should be from 1944-45, and was captured in Ajmer. The car was bought new and was the first car in our family.

This particular car was sold off in 1948 and went to a small town Gyangarh near Bhilwara, post independence the car was re-registered as RJE 335.

Sometime is 1980's this car was bought by Shri V.P singh badnore (presently the Governor of Punjab) and came back to Ajmer.

In around 1987 the car was bought for Rs. 25,000/- by Hamid Bhai of Ghani auto's Jaipur , he further restored the car and sold it off to someone in Pali, Rajasthan in 1990, I have to take out time and go see it sometime in the near future.

Amazing. Any plans to bring her back into family? I sure am envious of your rich car cultural past & definitely the present.

I wish we could buy it back, but it seems that the family that owns it now, wont sell, but I am on the lookout for another car of the same model.
