Recently received a set of 5 photos featuring a Parsi family with their 1947/8 Chrysler photographed near about Bungalow which is also a superb structure.
The registration number of the car ends in 51 for sure, it may be BMY 6251, part is guess work.
Anyone recognizes anything? There is a kid in a stroller who today should be about 65 to 70 years old.

Great photos! Photos 1 and 3 seem to be a different car from photo 2.

I have been trying the read the registration but the best I can do is C356 with another letter in front of the C. Can you tell what it is on the original?

Is it possible the first picture is not India? I am surprised that in the 20s (maybe early 20s at that?) the gent seen over the front of the car looks more like a Caribbean to me. Would that have been possible/likely back then? I just don't know.
It could be it is a long distance English traveller with his UK registered car.

Photos 1 & 3 are dated ca 1910. The location is definitely S.India, going by the "Jubba" some of the men are wearing. A possible alternative is Ceylon (Sri Lanka).

I had thought the registration was MC-xxx, which should make it somewhere in the old Madras Presidency.

The originals come from France, so maybe Frenchmen on tour ?

If it was Ceylon, the registration would be C356 and it would be C for Colombo city. They did not have 2 letters until very, very much later.
Whatever is in front of the C seems to be curved so I am not sure I like the MC idea although there is nothing else I know of that fits and it is not a French registration as they all had the letter after the numerals.
I guess this one will have to remain a mystery.
