There is a Himalaya House near Crawford market (opposite JJ School of Architecture). Today, it's quite a nondescript structure and for the life of me, I cannot tell if this is the same. Maybe it is. The lines in the background could be the overhead rail lines.

Photo of Dodge showroom at Hughes road, Mumbai. Can't date it (probably 1940s), maybe someone can tell from the models on display.

The Rolls Royce "MYSORE-3" is the Silver Ghost chassis 57YB. Taken during Viceroy Irwin's visit to Mysore.

Re: Nostalgic automotive pictures including our family's cars

Travancore,
I am guessing that Topolino is a 30s car and the only European colony that issued B in the 1930s was Bengal. Brunei was issuing B in the 1960s, Malaysia never had B but Sarawak had B in the early 1970s and in Indonesia, Jakarta only issued B from 1917 to 1920.
Cheers
Cedric

Re: Pics: Vintage & Classic cars in India

Thanks to all the gentlemen who helped identifying the car. I am grateful. The picture is one of my grandfathers, he's on the far left

Even then there was garbage on the road, the so called intellectuals city. The fiat is a Super select and looks pristine.

But surely that's a Select? Judging by the person's hand, there doesn't seem to be a quarter glass; at least I can't spot one. And, then there's the fuel filler cap!

Definitely a Select as nobody would convert the recessed fuel filler with flap to the earlier type that stuck out (twas infact the other way round mostly! :P) but it seems to have been fitted with Super-select side-pattis. Maybe the owner thought of 'upgrading' his car (like how many 1100Ds were fitted with padmini parts by owners!) then!
