This only happens in Kerala. A "Yank" machine for the Communist Party electioneering, ca 1957
It appears to be an MB wwII jeep and the owners would roll over in their graves if they knew it was being used to assist the communist party.

Appears to be a 1934 Chevrolet phaeton. Never seen one in my life but the grill with ornament and the two extrusions on the vertical sides of the hood suggests 34 and not 35. Would have the 216 ci babbit bearing main shaft, the same engine that was used from 1927 until the end of 1952. Very rare car and very much appreciated.

Correct Karl, it is the same car.

At one time, The Seeta Phone Company was the main broker acquiring cars for the Manjusha Museum at Dharmasthala.

Re: Nostalgic automotive pictures including our family's cars

My maternal grandfather was quite the mechanic; and owned a number of cars including Austins, a Wolseley and innumerable Standards - including Vanguards and Super 10s.

Below is his Austin. The picture was taken at Aruvankadu in the Nilgiris. He worked at the Cordite Factory for close to 30 years.

I am so glad to see his resurrected Wolseley 8 (originally MSP-9311) at the newly opened Geedee Museum in Coimbatore!

The next few pictures are also from Photo Division GOI but were missing captions. I assume they are taken in India:

I am wondering if the building with the Rolls Royce may be the Government House, Calcutta.

The car (in war time paint) may be R-R 25/30 Chassis GTL30. It was with the Bengal Governor (Richard Casey); and at one time registered WBB-5344

Now Poonawalla owned ?

The RR with the white lower edge striping. Used for night time visibility during WWII - in case of a black out (for fear of the Japanese attack on Calcutta that never really happened).
