Harit,
I am afraid that my only comment is I cannot help you with even a date or place if you continue to cover the registration numbers of all the photos you post.
Cheers

The building right behind has been identified by a friend from Bangalore as Bangalore Town Hall, which was built in 1935 by the philanthropist Sir K P Puttana Chetty:

Going by the numberplates, the pic. was definitely pre-1939, maybe when the building had just been finished? Car may have been brand new then, in that case?
Stanher,
That is a very interesting registration as BA was the original 1902 ish Bangalore series and by the time of that photo, they would have been at the end of the BA series (9999) or even into BAN that followed it.
BA 14 TA must be some special series for some bigwig but what is the TA? Some administrative official I guess????

Re: Nostalgic automotive pictures including our family's cars

The center picture is from Rafiya Manzil, Bombay 1929, presumably the other two pictures, which feature same cars would be from the same place.

I believe that the photos of the Standard BA 1101 are from 1925 to 1929. So maybe these numbers were re-issued.

Since there is an ongoing event at Kolkata, here are some pics I believe may have been taken there, please let us share observations.

Cheers harit

Re: Nostalgic automotive pictures including our family's cars

I chanced upon this fascinating set of images taken by dutchman Wim Dussel during his travels. It seems that he was riding cross country in the 1950s astride his Maico Mobil scooter, and what a sight the scooter is packed to the gills with supplies. The images are really remarkable.

I think so- yes.

Introducing the duo of BMC 860 and BMC 861.

Another MDN registered one used to exist down south-

IIRC- Harit had posted some images of either BMC 860/861 on this very thread- The pics would've dated to the late 'Sixties/Early 'Seventies, I guess.

More can be followed on this thread: http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/post-w...ml#post1445882 Due credits to the original authors on that page.

EDIT: Got the pic in question.

These are Maicolettas the one shown in the old photos are maico mobiles they are entirely different vehicles.
Apart from what maicoletta photos you have pulled out from various places another mint maicoletta scooter exists very close to my heart and very much in my mind. Unseen by the world 😀

I had seen this picture in negative form. The car is quite likely to be an Essex?

Re: Nostalgic automotive pictures including our family's cars

I recently got this pic- as a part of a series on Gandhiji.

Mohandas Gandhi is seen here- exiting what looks like(possibly?) a British car. The pic dates from 1931.

Nostalgic automotive pictures including our family's cars-altan6ro9dxatm2ynqx6todqk1scyac59jwnoqxphba3ah.jpg

Who can identify this one?

Pic credits: The IIT Delhi Alumni mail, of a particular batch- in all probability. Due credits to whoever the original source was.
