At the start of this thread there are some pictures I posted, I cant help but wonder if there is a match here

The numbers don't match but your photo is probably a temporary number, and 2 faces seem to match. Just a wild guess, but you never know... The car is a Buick, and missing a bumper in my photo

Karl,
Even the surroundings match and it could be the Mody Family,
I have put both the pictures in a single frame for better comparison and I too think that this could be the same car/family.

Is it possible to show this picture to the family from whom you got the pictures ?

The people pictured were from the Billimoria family, the gent had connections with the car business, Dadajee Dhackjee and others. I don't know too many details, just vaguely remember what the lady told me about her father. Unfortunately she is no more, and I don't know of any immediate next of kin.

The BML, Bombay registered Mercedes Benz Ponton. "BML/4469" is in very good hands in Pune. I think now, she is in black though, instead of the earlier white.

And believe it or not, the car has the very same number plates, even today. Go figure.

The Merc 220 s Ponton is being restored at a workshop in Tardeo. Should be out soon

As far as I remember this car was in Hyderabad in the 2000s, in grey, and now in Bangalore in maroon. And with new plates in Hyderabad and again in Bangalore.

Again, I'm really not sure about the number, now that you mention it. The maroon one, you said? The one with the metal plates? I'm not really sure on this, think of it....Confusion always seems to be hiding behind a corner...!!

Yes. Apologise for the error. I was confused between BML/4469, and BML/7841.
