Re: Nostalgic automotive pictures including our family's cars

No one could identify the car in the picture above on the right.

This is a shot of a building, the car just happens to be passing by and got captured. My guess is that it a GM product of the early thirties, there is a resemblance to a 1934 Chevy, with twin stepneys.
The car is carrying a heavy load

Cheers harit

It could be a Buick (1934-35) 4 door sedan. Buicks also had such stepneys, with body-coloured, metal covers. The front and rear door levers are located near one another, as the rear door opens from the front side..

Another Morris in Bombay. Vintage sedans seem to have disappered, hardly see them these days.

Re: Nostalgic automotive pictures including our family's cars

Something military, not so old and anti nostalgia and family.

This is a Chaffee Tank which was destroyed in the Battle of Kushtia in Bangla Desh. According to Wiki, the last time the M24 is known to have been in action was in the Indo-Pakistani War of 1971, where some 66 Chaffees stationed in Bangladesh were easy prey for Indian Army T-55s PT-76s, and anti-tank teams.
Interesting, I thought.

Maybe not so interesting after all.
This is a vivacious lady (Adjective (esp. of a woman) Attractively lively and animated, Synonyms lively – sprightly – spirited – animated – alive) sitting on a Humber. Was she a famous tennis player, or just someone sitting with a tennis (?) racket on a Humber. The photo is damaged a bit, on the left is a building which could be a part of CCI as the surrounding building fit the picture.

Harit,

My guess is that she is Ms Nirupama Mankad, who was the National Women's Champion in mid 1960s.

May be I am wrong

Best Regards & Drive Safe

I think you are quite correct. Most likely a 1935 based on the wheel covers, the hood ornament, and side trim put altogether. But 1934 is still a serious possibility. Thanks for your input. Love the way you car lovers place such a high priority on salvaging older cars and allowing them to be restored and enjoyed.

Re: Nostalgic automotive pictures including our family's cars

A familiar sight from the old days, a bus crossing Mandovi river on ther ferry Mandovi.
Those bridges over the Mandovi were a real relief, and save time.
They were really primitive. Once I burnt my Amby's clutch reversing up a slope when coming off a ferry. This was in north Goa.
