Hi Sir,

Like i mentioned, the last two pics were with an antique dealer in Udaipur, a small shop little down the road towards the entrance to the city palace. Of all the pictures he had, these had cars in them and so i asked him if i could photograph it and he was okay with it.

Could someone please identify all the cars?

regards,

Srinand.

Those are lovely pictures of MG Road, Bangalore which was so unique and beautiful with its famous boulevard over the years

Unfortunately the road is now a victim of development with its boulevard being replaced by the Metro Rail.

Cheers

Great pictures Srinand!

A copy of the first picture was for sale by Bonhams back in 2011. It was originally identified as Patiala and later corrected to Jodhpur. It was also with a "Rolls-Royce" set of pictures!

Re: Nostalgic automotive pictures including our family's cars

The car on the left is most probably an Opel Super Six cabriolet, circa 1936. The twin strakes on the wings and trunk / boot / dickey opening are unique.

-------------------------------------------------------------
The car on the left in picture 4, with its unique conical / tent radiator is so familiar - I just can't recall the brand!

Think it is a French make, starts with a "D" (not Delaunay).

Yes indeed. And the car on the right appears to be a GM product.

Interesting character, with his obituary and all. I deal with Government departments and have come across pre-receipts, but obituaries pre-death?

He did not mention what has happened to that Mustang, but there were more than four 1964-65 Mustangs in India, Bombay alone had 2 convertibles.
Nice Austin 7, any details of past ownership? Could be an interesting story. Is this car known, or lurking in some corner on the t-bhp site.

And Karlos, hats off for the trawls on the net to find such stuff.

Cheers harit

'had come across this site earlier, a few years ago. 'remember the pics. of his Herald. Funny thing is never did I know that eventually I'd own one in the same colour combo as well as the same model year (1964!)

But I think his is fitted with Fiat rims? You may be able to tell.

Re: Nostalgic automotive pictures including our family's cars

Some further comments on Srinand's fabulous photos.

I need to correct myself on my earler "French" comment.

Here is another option - this car may be a Chevrolet Classic Six from 1911-1913. Even though the radiator still does not look quite right.

The front wings and cowl look like they were modernized.

Harit, Ejji is a very interesting person and in a lot of ways you remind me of Ejji as well.

He is a true "auto enthusiast/petrolhead". Almost there at all of the events organised with FMSCI licenses.

His latest adventure was driving in the ASEAN Rally (Mahindra sponsored event) from Indonesia to Delhi through most of ASEAN countries, which concluded in Delhi in January 2013.

His personal visiting card shows his occupation as "Retired Rat race Runner"

I will definitely ask Ejji about this - I am sure that he was using it just show the type of car - I will mention to him to put a "due credit" to you in the site.

Best Regards & Drive/Ride Safe

Thats not an issue for me at all. At least an automobile lover has used the picture to publicise his genuine interest.
You know there are others who may post such a picture on "cars for sale" sites or they even carry prints of pictures and say he is a broker and these are for sale (without the owner's knowledge), later embarrassing the owner and buyer too.
These brokers fix a customer and negotiate and then come to the owner who was nowhere in the picture, saying a deal has been struck for his old car.
I think we had discussed about such "me too brokers" earlier.
