I suspect that's an early Standard Vanguard, circa late 40s/early 50s.

Circa 1950 - off to the US for higher studies. Somewhere in Pittsburgh I think (Steel City), with a hired car just before a road trip. Check out the jackets & box cameras on "show", in addition to the "american car"
Not too sure about the model though.

A Dodge or Plymouth? Definitely looks like a Chrysler product.

That's a 1951/52 Plymouth Cranbrook/Cambridge - the hubcaps point more to it being a Cranbrook, so please check with Google Baba for better knowledge! The car behind should be a 1947/48 Studebaker Champion.

Re: Nostalgic automotive pictures including our family's cars

Your truly being driven home with my bride !!! Can't claim it as nostalgia as its only 26 years ago and its as fresh as it can be in my mind at least.

The Car is my dad's last car 1982 April Amby - ICI Prussian Blue shade.

All the stickering including the now rarely seen "Family Planning" inverted triangle - thanks to my cousins idea of ragging.

Best Regards & Drive/Ride Safe

Ram

The round indicators became square... And lo behold... We have the Mark IV! The front grill too.... And came with a strip of paper pasted on the speedo... "Do not exceed 50kmph during first 1000 km" !

The Battery was indeed huge - what we see is also the "recorder" part of the Video. The Massive VHS tape had to be inserted into this "suitcase"! The Cameras did not have built in tape drives yet !

Re: Nostalgic automotive pictures including our family's cars

'dont remember if I've posted this before- seems like a Fiat select (but with a Super-select grille and many later fittings) that was owned for a while by a long-distance friend's family in the early '80s. That's her standing in front of the car and her brother sitting on the bonnet (extreme right)
She said this car was originally from Bombay. They previously had a Herald that was coincidentally the same colour combo according to her! (no pics. though)
They later bought an '86 Amby as this Fiat was found to be needing 'high maintenance!' and was eventually sold.
