This is a toy train for sure, like they have in Matheran, Nilgiri's, Darjeeling etc. But where is this?

Patel Bhogilal Hargovindas Ambulance van was taken delivery of by these gents in 1948/1949. This was apparently in Ahmedabad. The dealer was at ????WAJA, Ahmedabad. an anyone guess the full name? They say that there's no place like HOME for Ford service, really?

The first picture is of the famous Batasia Loop of the Darjeeling toy train. The track spirals around itself through a tunnel and over a hilltop at this point.

The second picture is of Sonada railway station. We Bongs like the metallic clang of the names of the stations "Tung-Sonada-Ghum" en route to Darjeeling.

Some may have seen the advert for Nissan Micra with Mr. Kapoor in the car at the Gateway of India with the Taj Hotel in the background. Here is a more period picture with the Hotel Greens on the right side. This hotel was aquired by Taj, pulled down, and the Tower was built adjacent to the Taj building. Actually a road separated these two and Taj did a swap deal with the authorities. Car is a Chrysler product, maybe DeSoto or even a Dodge. And the Ghoda Gadi, now all but vanished, to be replaced with those hideous lit up steel contraptions.

The second picture is VT, lots of trams in the picture, the first tram carries advertisement for Vova Talcum Powder, nothing known about that brand.

These are picture postcards sold by Nalanda book store, Taj, and dated 1950.

Late Mr. Patel Bhogilal Hargovindas was the father of Late Shri Pranlal Bhogilal, who at that time had donated many ambulances in Ahmedabad. I have verified the same with trusted sources.

Very difficult to positively identify any car. And the picture is very nice.

In fact the building seen is the entrance to Brabourne stadium opposite Ambassador Hotel. Unfortunately a bit dark, the picture.

This famous building in Delhi is the focus of a new independence movement. Earlier many of those inside wore "Nehru" caps, usually crisp and white, today many, but outside, wear a similar cap with a name written on the side.
This being in Delhi pictures more Ambassadors, Bombay was Fiat city.

Somehow,appropriately,the seat of power seems less soiled in your pic than my mental picture of how it looks today.
Today,the Gandhi topi sits better on the head of many,many Indians other than the family who just happened by chance to carry the surname of the exalted Bapuji!(unless of course, Feroze Gandhi was picked as the Queen Consort as much for his name as anything else,who knows?)

This is a Dodge chassis and look closely at the side/indicator lights. They are being misused!!
This model truck is also not seen anywhere anymore.
This bus was being built for Rastra Seva Dal, whatever organisation that is.

Thanks harit.This is a Dodge, also a FC model from the 1960's. Many of these were bought by the Maharashtra Government.It used to be marketed as the Dodge PAL and was built by PAL in India, under licence, in the 1960's, after imports were stopped.
They also built and marketed a Dodge Rocket during the 1960's,which had a bonnet and an American design. These were used by the Maharashtra Police plentifully and are also seen in many Hindi movies. I have advertisements of these two models and believe I have posted them in the Classic and Vintage Advertisement thread.

FC stands for Forward Control, where the engine bay is within the driver's cabin and the steering is in most cases ahead or just ahead of the engine in the layout.It just signifies that the controls viz. the steering, accelerator, clutch, brake (for the driver) are placed forward in the design layout. Like we have the Jeep FC 160, 260 and 260 D (later Mahindra).
But back to the post again, the Ford (with Simpson engine) bus was different and I have tried and tried, but still could not get any picture of such a bus.Will keep on trying but its most likely that you may spring a surprise with a picture of that kind of bus !

However, I found a picture featuring the four ring logo (they call it the Hunter logo) for Perkins P4 engine that also appeared on these Ford buses. These were made by M/s Simpson and Co. in India.
The facts stated on this link below are a bit startling, however. The Perkins P4 diesel engines were liberally fitted to many car brands of Chrysler Motors since the mid 1950's, among them being the Plymouth Savoy. Here in India, the P4 engine was fitted to many of these imports of the 1950's, post the oil shock of 1973, after replacing the original inline 6 cylinder petrol engine. It is a case of lost and found! Long lost siblings reunited!
