Hello,

Thanks for the info. I will try getting their contact number and give them a call. Unfortunately, I do not have any info regarding the fuel pump. We have been using a local electronic fuel pump since years. My main aim is to get the car running and keep it running. We will look at cosmetics and OE parts sometime in the future.

Regards,
James

The fuel pump should be a simple SU electric pump still available in the UK

Thank you, Bulldogji. @vintagepoint5 was interested in procuring the OE pump. I use the ones available here that have been doing duty on Ambassadors and fiats since decades.

Help in sourcing the engine mounts would be appreciated.

Best would be get them from UK, as finding locally would be difficult and if you do find it the rubber would be too old to do the job.

Hi, An electric fuel pump is always better as compared to the mechanically driven pump. In any case the electric fuel pump needs a return line. Means once the float bowl of the carburettor is full, excess fuel must be returned to the tank. You can accomplish this by simply introducing a Tee junction near to the inlet of carburettor. Use a smaller dia hose for the return line. Are you running a Solex setup or SU?

A good pump costs almost 1500 - 1800 Rs. Reach out to a reputed 3 wheeler spares parts shop and ask for the best make of pumps he has got. Normal ones start from Rs 600 onwards. First choice would be to go for a Ucal/Facet pump. But they have been out of production for quite some time. Plagua or Pakua make pumps have got a better reputation for reliability.

Re: Vintage & Classic Car Parts

Hi Ilangop,
Thanks for your advice, can you give more details of T-joint and pump, if you have any picture of T-joint and other pump pictures of details, source contact will be great help. I want my Morris 8E car to run smoothly and silently. My father used to have Hindustan 1948 car (Morris 10 M) which is very smooth running car, when I was in school. I used to leave abroad and on short vacations I tried to restore Morris 8E, which still have few issues to fix.
Cheers! & Thanks
