I visited Malik bazzar, and then many more places recently in Calcutta. For my luck only managed a used non working fuel pump. Else only assurances :(.

And Yes Jamshedpur or Ranchi might get you some parts. I did got some stuff from Bokaro .
I totally agree that Mullick (that's the sir name of the family that still owns the entire property) Bazaar is no longer what it used to be for classic car parts even till 10 years back. As Manish found out, Fiat spares are very scarce. Early Amby's and Landmaster spares are still there but there is only one shop that I know off. I have promised Karlos to get him some Landy spares but have been too lazy to go there, but I will soon.

The other thing that is also true that someone mentioned is that restorers and classic car owners generally by in bulk if any spares are suddenly available. I myself have done this. Years back, Rahul Sircar had tipped me off about an early side valve Merc 180 Ponton which had come there to get scrapped. I immediately went there and bought off every piece of usable trim and other parts that were intact. But a restorer landed up before me and took the headlamps. As a result, I have a few spares from that scrap car apart from what my car has.

Till 15 years back, my dad (he's also crazy about cars) would take me every Saturday to Mullick Bazaar and once in a while we would see some pretty intact old cars lying there waiting to be scrapped. Some were saved. I remember a nice Wolseley and a Humber. My dad wanted the Wolseley but he backed out later. There was also a shop run by a very old lady where we would regularly get parts for our Morris Minor. Then she passed away and the shop closed. The last I got an old part was 5 years back when I chanced upon a front and rear windshield for my 180a Ponton.

I guess you have to be very lucky to come across some parts nowdays.

Best Regards
Prithvi

Hi Prithvi,
When you visit the shop, please do let me know if you come across any landmaster stuff. I am especially in need of tail light assemblies/lens for the land master which I am unable to find for quite some time.

Re: Vintage & Classic car parts info

need at least one lens for a Lucas P100L Headlamp (stippled with a clear centre) . also want flat head and tail glass lenses of all sizes for a non automotive project, lightly dished may work, basically the lens should have a sufficient flat outer lip to work with.

Oh yeah, I did enquired. The price quoted was 2000 Rupees. Is that ok with you. Pawan Kadam got one from Mumbai, I presume for less than half of the price quoted. Also there are Fiat stuff still available in Delhi Jama masjid scrap market. Have you tried there.

Re: Vintage & Classic car parts info

I have see lots of Rover 2000 Lenses in a shop in case anyone is interested.

There is also a script available which says "FIAT 1100D" in which fiat is on the first line and the 1100D is a little below that. The person wants Rs.1200 for that. Incase anyone is interested.
