manish, I appreciate the effort put into the drawings for explanation purposes, thank you.

The clips of the first type are available in the market albeit in a bigger size. While fabricating one instead of manufacturing it, the problem one faces is centering the bolt and ensuring the angle would be true 90 degrees.

What happens if there is a slight change in either of these parameters is that the whole beading tends to twist/bend while the bolt is being tightened from the inside.

The wire type of clips on the other hand take on the shape as required and does not transfer the stress to the beading, hence my quest for the same.

Hope I have been able to put forward my problem clearly.

Got your Point, let me ask Jadsons if he has those clips with him.

He is in good terms with me, this saturday he gifted me the thin gear knob made of plastic (not bakelite though), which used to come in our cars.

@ john a milne:maybe you could try Car Glass Repair and Car Glass Replacement - Windshield Experts

Their Kolkata contact is as follows:

66, syed amir ali avenue,
near Ice skating,
Kolkata-19
Phone: 033-22833303, 22833440
E-mail- wsekolkata@vsnl.net

Thanks for the information. I had been given their address and spent some time trying to locate them and was told that they had closed shop. I have sent an email to them which bounced, but will try contacting the main office.

Have any members used their service in other parts of India? If so, what were the results?

Hi John,

You need to be very careful dealing with Windshield experts. For simple work if they find it time consuming they will quote you a rate where in you will think of replacing the glass. As for the closure of the shop in Kolkata I know of one instance where they replaced the front glass of a Mk2 Amby with a second hand product from mullick bazar.

Regards,

Subhasis

Any chance of finding an original set of rear tail lights for my 1962 Fiat 1100?
One of the last details to finish it off!
Thanks greatly,
John

'got a box full of Fiat 1100 bumperguards/overriders that need a good home. There are 7 or 8 pairs in total. Except for 2 or 3, all are in decent condition.
Anyone who wants all/any of them, please pm me.
Thanks.

calrock: you could approach Wheels India Limited they do make wire wheels, like in the second pic posted by you, as per your specifications. Hope this helps.

I have 2 repro round parking lights, I can give those. The lenses for those are also available at local parts shop. Red lights imitation of original are now with Arun. Local Scrapper is selling the original aluminium body ones for Rs. 400 a pair as told earlier by arun. But Singh Sahab, I believe all these parts you can still found in Delhi. I will enquire and let you know the lace in delhi to find all this.

Do you mean the aluminium Body, the Lens would be similar to the normal Fiat ones.

Wow great, we also found a complete set of bumpers with overriders for my Select in gujari. The Fiat 124 wheel cap has also been bought for our fellow BHPian.

A couple of years ago, after mails and many phone calls, finally came to know they do not offer the service, don't know now. I am also looking for the similar treatment for my select.

I have run out of time to pick up the "Jewellers Rouge" so I will try and find it in Calcutta. First stop will be to the Glass Market where I had a custom glass cut, with bevelled edges a number of years ago. They must have used a type of polishing abrasive which should work on my front window. Will test it out first and post the results.

Attached is a photo of the rear tail lights with an Aluminium body.
I have been told that the lens are not original for this model.
Any comments?

I will be arriving in Calcutta this Friday and looking forward to being "reunited" with WBF-1. Have had the entire running gear gone through with a fine tooth comb, lots of little things and a few big ones as I want to do some long distant touring this winter.

I believe Super Selects came with the Reflector in the middle of the lens. Is that your only concern?

If john's car is supposed to have a select lens, then it is not original to this car. The select lens were way different in design, not having provision for the square reflector in the middle. See pic. of this select tail-light:

I've one more pic. of the same light, but uploading images right now is a real pain, so I don't have the patience to do it now!
