Wow the pics of the SS80 and SBK's are amazing. Do you know if any of those SBK's exist in Kerala still ?

I remember seeing a gentleman riding SBK's during the late 90's almost every day in the morning around Trivandrum Museum-Nandavanam road. I was a teenager then, once rode my Hero ranger cycle as fast as possible to just go and speak to him about the bike and whether i could take a picture. Little did i know that SBK's are super fast and a Hero ranger could not even get near !

It may be a good idea to cover the Registration numbers when you post the pictures - for the privacy of the owners and may be other reasons as well. As you know Kerala RTO Vehicle Registration details are available on line and my throw up undesirable situations.

On each of the posts if the Registration numbers are visible i always used to get the consent from owners if it is in their private place.

Unlike the other photos which are of the 90's and 80's era this photo is fairly recent see the number plate ,and also the FORD IKON in the picture. this must have been taken some where in the period 2005- 2008 or so.I have seen these bikes in some TV show in that period. Also I presume this SS80 was owned by this particular owner during that period and not in its heydays(84-87)as you seem to have implied.By the way can you find out whether it was a DX model or standard?

Buick Eight Road Master Royal Saloon 1947

My take, if the car is seen in shows, rallies, then leave the plate visible. In a private compound, or on the road, maybe more curteous to cover the number unless the owner agrees. My 2.5 annas:D

Foby,That indeed is a very strange nomenclature for the Car.I have heard of Buick super Eight and also Buick Roadmaster but never Buick eight Roadmaster ROYAL Saloon .moreover this particular car has no royal connections also if you meant that. As some other member aptly said,it definitely has a grand royal price taglol:

its a 47 Buick Super....the Super script is visible on the side :uncontrol

It seems like the car was restored by a group of youngsters with the single intention of making windfall gains.They did a tremendous restoration job:thumbs up
But their unrealistic pricing removed the charm and glory of their great effort

Is there any way from the engine compartment if we confirm this is a Super or a Road Master? If I understand all Road Masters has those 3 port holes on the mudguard whilst only the later model Supers had the same.

I'm sure some members should be able to tell from the engine bay. I'm pretty sure the portholes were not offered on the 47/48 cars, maybe only from 49 onwards.

This is the Kerala Buick jazzed up then its a super. The port Holes started in 49 only and never came on the 46/47/38
