This is a 1978 Chevrolet caprice LHD imported to INDIA by its first owner in 1994 from the Gulf .It was with him till 2011 when it was bought by the Kottayam guys.If my info is correct it was sold to some one from TamilNadu. Here are the photos of the car when it was with the original owner

It seems like this collection had undergone some changes since early 2012. This Caprice was a prized possession and i got a chance to start and rev this V8clap:, something that happens far and few for a soul like me. Got a video of that too.

The doors were so heavy that a merc's door felt like 800's when i opened one right after. Interiors were torn here and there but parts were well in place. Also the bumpers are fixed on shocks, than directly to the frame.

Chevrolet Caprice was very popular car in KSA, I used to owned Caprice 1987 model and used it for 10 years and sold to friend. Caprice were very popular cars in KSA and lot of cars were still available at very cheap prices
and spare were also available here.

Chevrolet Caprice cars were strong build and driving pleasure is excellent.
It is very comfortable at good speed and safer car on highways as well.
But all these big American cars were disappearing. Latest Caprice size
reduced, Ford Mercury Grand Marquis and Ford Crown Victoria brand stopped production by end of 2011. Still plenty of old cars available in KSA, it is pity to see lot of cars were abondoned on roads.

Cheers!

An Austin Tourer from Ernakulam which was on sale some time back

Not currently will try to get them if that car is still there
In the meantime here is an original Morris Oxford which is LHD which is sort of unusual for a British Marque in India

A lot of these came in from Kuwait and Bahrain which were former British protectrates

Is'nt our Hindustan Ambassador actually a Morris Oxford?
So i think this was the one that came after the Ambassador. it looks more modern than our Amby.

There is one Morris Mini Moke in Trivandrum. I saw it drive away once from Trivandrum Tennis Club. Its in super mint condition. Before i could get my camera on the gentleman drove away. it started in half a crank of the starter motor!!
