A Ford Prefect and the other car is either a Humber Snipe or a Hillman. Most likely to be a Snipe as the Hillman's grille was usually a bit smaller

Yes,indeed it is from Mysore and is having diesel engine. The car was up for sale since a long time. Was advertised in Auto INDIA a few years back.
If my info is correct the car was sold for around 6 lakhs in unrestored condition from Mysore last year or so

Yes , those were the cars owned by his grand parents who were well educated and well placed at that time.

Last snap form the set says the vivid interest of the family in automobiles.

yes, the family is in the transport business. its been dieselized ever since i can remember.

This 1911 AJS confirms the existence of the TVR Number. The picture is taken in Munnar at the Kannan Devan Tea Plantations. This picture is on the walls of High Range Club, Munnar.

Mr. Francis last known designation was General Manager, Kannan Devan Hills Plantation Limited from 1937-45.

TRV preceeded TCT(post1950).I have seen a 1948 RC book which has the TRV number on it.Probably TVR must have been post 1940

Definitely post 1939 as that was then the 3-alphabet numbers are said to have come out IIRC.
