A Mercedes Benz Ponton that I had clicked in Panaji, Goa in Feb 2002. It was just restored by a foreigner couple who had allowed me to take pictures.

This car is now in Mumbai and being restored in alibag. The owner does call occasionally with questions. But I am told its miles away from this pristine condition in this picture.

HI Kasli, 5656 pictured and posted by you is a 350sl owned by a friend of mine and completely restored. Drives like a dream. This car was for sale a couple of years ago with no buyers at the asking price. A delightful restoration has made her a reliable daily driver. Maybe, when the next long drive is planned we could invite him? He also has a lovely mercedes of the seventies, and a nice beetle, ex madras.

This car used to be seen near Johnson market quite regularly and then just disappeared..Thanks for the picture. Mind if i ask where it is now?

This picture was taken in Kammanahalli. Thats where i saw it and it was a while ago.

Hi guys . This is an old thread but I am new here . Would like to share some good news with you that I have purchased the 250SE shown by V 16 and have started the herculian task of restoration . The original fuel injection engine has been replaced so if anybody knows of a 6 cylinder 250 fuel injection engine having series number 129.980 please inform me .
This is going to be a long process but I assure you I will restore the car to showroom condition

Someone has spotted a Mercedes 220 S Ponton in good condition silver + black with a West Bengal registration, in south Mumbai. Anyone has any idea about this car?

harit, Tweety tells me the Mercedes you refer to belongs to Rishi Agarwal. He also has the stunning Caddilac of the twenties that was at the first Cartier in Bombay.

Lovely R129 SL. I think that yellow W123 to the right is a US version, going by the headlamps.
