Great car. Wasn't aware that the 200 came with twin carbs but I was wrong. Like the original windshield fluid bottle which has been retained.

The 200 definitely was offered with twin carbs, it reflects in my friend's car's original manual. But it doesn't reflect in his car, so who knows

Pawan, if all else fails there is HND auto in Sharjah who can get the same for you. They can either get you original or from Taiwan and China. Lead time is around 3 weeks. They luckily has the grill, emblem and wiper blades for my car which i picked up.
BTW, guys i trawled the Sharjah scrap yards for parts / trim for my W123 300D, dont even bother they have nothing !!

Pavanji, what kind of cosmetics do you require specifically? I use the following vendors, mostly in Europe (Germany).

Thee guys are good. Products are good and relatively reasonable as well.

A Mercedes 219.

Since childhood I had been seeing this car under the stilt parking of a building on Nepean Sea Road. Belonged to a Sindhi gent who bought this car in Germany brand new and brought to India. We used to play in that compound, it was beginning of 1970's, and always saw the car parked, once in a while he would come down to start her, or get her cleaned. The colour was a very nice deep blue, not Oxford though. And one day the car vanished, the gent was quite elderly.
At the Zapp function at NSCI I met Mr. Gautam, and we talked about this car as he also had a 219. We could establish that these were one and the same. The Parsi gent had bought it from the Sindhi gent.
I only ever heard of another 219, in Rajasthan, and maybe in pieces. 219, this gent explained, was a tropicalised verion.

She is now in Bangalore, was also posted on Yahoo. Here is what was said:

Year: 1957
Owner: SG Mani
Story: Sulaiman’s Mercedes collection was started when SG Mani, a buddy of his from college, called to tell him that he was willing to dispose his old, priced Mercedes 219 as it was in danger of getting corroded. Mani had bought it from an old Parsi gentleman. “This is the car that I enjoy driving most as I can drive it around everyday.”

I too was fortunate to meet Mr. Mani in the Zapp rally. I also gather he had a rare Rover (not sure) which was also bought by Mr. Jamal.

I dont know about the rover but a riley definately went to bangalore any idea which one?

This Riley was a long time feature at Bandstand near Mantralaya, black in colour. These cars had a vinyl/rexine covered roof, and below that was a mesh. Well, this mish was corroded and pieces of metal were welded in. I saw that happening to this car.

Here is another Mercedes from that collection.
If I were to have a 220S Heckflosse painted, this would be the colour.

Story: The acquisition of the second Mercedes happened quite serendipitously, when he met a senior industrialist at a car rally where they spoke about Sulaiman’s love for cars. He said that there was an old Merc that used to be driven by a German and might be available in his factory’s garage. “With my heart pounding I opened the garage. The car was there and all that it needed was a face-lift.” The car was restored in a record 90 days flat

Was this car ever in Bombay marine drive ? If it was , then this navy blue car at one time was wonderful and super clean. Trust in good hands. It had an original air condition system has that's been fixed.

MYV is a 70's Bangalore registration number, if this car was in Mumbai it should have been before 1970.
