As per the pics it's 2001 . Cheers previous owner details will dig out. It's chassis number was 130901 or 130902 a little unsure

Absolutely original Allana. These were 5 cylinder Turbo diesel powered American W123s. They came with an Auto transmission, obviously were LHD and were loaded with a lot of goodies as standard, like power everything, Sunroof, leather all around and cruise control etc etc. The front lights were two separate sealed beams and the fogs tended to be Yellow in most cases, but not always.

The extended bumper was due to American Safety specs which meant all cars had to have an extended bumper by a few inches.

@mbz180, somewhere I read in this thread that you know a good workshop in Bangalore to service used Mercs. I am planning to buy a used W124 E220 and I need to know a reliable place where I can get her serviced regularly. Can you please share the details of the workshop?

Its a 190 going by the belt line trim. But one should check the engine sometimes mechanics just assume that if it is a diesel its a matador engine. I have seen some very old guys making this mistake. Dont assume check yourself could be a MB diesel engine for all you know.

Well from what the garage guy said, the original engine (no idea if petrol or diesel) was taken out and replaced with a matador one.

I wish I could afford one of these! :(

Wow a great find ! Where in hyderabad was this Tri Star hidden? Perhaps if you are not buying this one then feel free to share the details I would love to have this type of Mercedes. Shyam believe me its was a really challenging to post a reply to you as My IE had compatibility issues with the teap-bhp site and I had to call Nikhil who was truly helpful plus I am not eligible to PM you also.
