Adil Jal Darukhanawala published a book titled "Mercedes-Benz Winning". The major part of the book covers Mercedes-Benz motor sports activities. However there is a latter part which covers Mercede-Benz in India, and we see that there was a presence of Benz in the early years in India. There are some never seen before photographs seen in the book too.
The launch was at Shaman Motors on 12th of March, attended by a gathering which included classic car enthusiasts.

My Cedia is a Mitsubishi Outlander according to the CC provided by the Udupi RTO. My ex- Xenon XT was a 3.0 Pickup. Needless to say, both the errors were corrected immediately, upon insistence! My guess, if they don't see/find the right option in the drop down menu, they choose a random one and be done with it.

I was in Jamshedpur to see his mom last week and reluctantly took this, distant and discreet, shot as a memento. There is also his mom's white Buick and a Roller (a late 40's Silver Ghost, from memory, as these were under wraps). In the foreground and under wraps is his 60's VW Karmann Ghia.

Don't fail to note the unique reg number, this guy had great taste and passion for the classics. When I go again in late Nov, I hope to take some pics of his other cars and post them.

This was if not mistaken an ex Mallya car and how true is the Dharbhanga story is as true to the owner . The car has an early registration number of AP so obviously changed and transferred very early. What's the previous number to APX

APX is the first series for registration after AP state was formed. Before that cars in Hyderabad state were registered as HYX ___ and so on. Therefore it seems like it came to Hyderabad very early.. mid 50s.

As to your question about the 170, the friend's mom too died a few years later, the huse sold and no trace left of the family in Jamshedpur - all v sad ....

But I know his sis in B'lre and will also be in Jamshedpur in December (was there ten days back but no time to check this out)> Hope to update you soon. All Best.
