Precisely why I put it up (with no comments).......now if it had been the Gondal 500K
Came across a fine example of W124 300D in Mumbai. The car was originally imported by the Indian Hotels in 1990 and subsequently changed hands. Inspite of having 3 owners it is supposively in good nick. It is an automatic and up for sale.
Please excuse for the quality of images, its from a phone camera.
Did W124 300D come in manual too ? Are there any in and around Mumbai.

The W124 300D did come with a manual transmission,but they came in very few numbers. I happen to have one, a1988 model and she is such a pleasure to drive.

I think it is the same car i see almost daily in Worli. A w124 in daily use should be definitely be a great buy.

I have not researched or bought the car. I have put it up on classifieds for the owner. The issue being the gear train is mentioned as automatic in the books, so changing the gearbox would be calling trouble from ever sensitive Mumbai RTO.
I am however, researching and querying for a 300D manual, if I have the money and more importantly the space then, will surely pick it up.

There are a couple of W124 300D in Coimbatore for sale but they are both automatics.But my suggestion would be to look out for a manual because both the cars I have seen here have some sort of gear box issues.Incase I do come across a manual car I will remember to inform you.

I noticed that a w124 limousine is for sale (most probably modified in India-the interiors are too loud and an eyesore! had they looked like the interiors of a corporate private jet , then this could be special!)

That's a w140 if you look closely. Hate to think whether the electrics work properly if hacked.
