"Kaka" with a nice Mk I

The song ain't that good for listening except for the fact that it has big names : G.P.Sippy, Mohammed Rafi and Shankar Jaikishan (film Brahmachari, 1968). If you are cool listening to the song, please have the patience to see the Lambretta at 3 mins 35 secs and after. If not, you can just fast forward till 3.35 is reached and the action starts from 3.35 till 4.12.

The Lambretta featured has period accessories - the front bumper is rare nowadays and so is the black bag fitted on the aft side of the foot guard. One the fore side , it has a strap fastening the two lobes on either sides. Faintly also seen are an Ambassador OHV and a white sports car (?).

Another song here is from C.I.D. (1956) featuring Johnny Walker and Kumkum . Music is by O.P. Nayyar and the song is sung by Mohammed Rafi and Geeta Dutt. The video shows cars right from the beginning, but intermittently. Trams are moving in a scene. Please be alert however from 3.08 / 4.17 till 3.18/ 4.17. Some classic cars at their prime, are seen on Marine Drive.

The song featured is from the film "Johar in Bombay" (1967). I.S. Johar and Sonia Sahani are seen in this song "sar leke hatheli". The song is action packed for car lovers and almost all cars surviving in that era, are seen in the crowded Bombay traffic. The two cars used by the hero and heroine are filmy cars and have appeared in other films too. Of interest is are many other cars and particularly a metallic steel grey Fiat Select, seen at 1.44 -1.47 / 3.50 onwards for about two to three seconds or so. This steel grey in a metallic shade, was a factory colour. From 1.55/3.50 onwards, the scenario becomes monotonous with the hero's and heroine's cars only.

Incidentally, Amitabh Bachchan, his co-star in the movie "ANAND" (1970) had mentioned in an interview that kaka used to turn up for the film shooting in a "humble Herald" to appear inconspicuous in public! Maybe twas this very car!

A few vehicles from the 1981 Tamil (rajini) movie "Thee"

Does any of our BHPians who are Tamil movie fans remember a Tamil Black and White movie (possibly of late 50s or early 60s) in which there is a MG Y Type and a Singer Roadster appearing in several scenes including song sequences. I saw this movie in Sun TV long ago and I think there are 2 heroes and 2 heroines in it. One of the heroines who is an athlete or sports woman goes to Ceylon and wins a competition. The story was something like that .....

Will try to identify the above.

BTW, here is a 1939 Mercedes-Benz 170V roadster from the 1961 MGR movie "Thaai Sollai Thattadhe"

Thanks. The same Mercedes is also in another Tamil movie "Annai" (1962). Here is the Youtube link to the song Azhagiya Mithilai ... which features the same car.

I understand that this Mercedes belongs to well known Muslim family in Chennai. It is still with them.

A lovely old Dodge truck (nee Lorry down South) in a late 60s? Tamil movie!

A few nice cars can also be seen in the same movie, including a lovely Dodge and a Fiat select taxi:

From the movie HUM HINDUSTANI (1960)

Of course, lots of nice vehicles to be seen, but most of these are what apparently catch the most attention- especially the 2 VW splitscreen buses! The taxi seems to be a Baby Hindustan, going by the windscreen. Is the red BEST bus an Albion? And the black car on the right in the pic. of the red/black VW splitscreen? Citroen Traction Avant?
And the white & navy blue one? Jaguar Mark IX?

From the movie "Maa", 1976

Any info on what car this is? Also any lead on the movie will be appreciated. This apparently was shot in front of KBR Park, Hyderabad which is the heart of the city these days
