A song from 1961 here from the film Aas Ka Panchhi. Since the song is Dheere Chalao Jara, it had to be a sports car and the car is a Sunbeam. The song is lip synced by Rajendra Kumar and Vijaythimala while its sung by Subir Sen and Lata. The music director is Shankar Jaikishan and the lyricist, Shailendra.

A very nice early 60s Austin Westminster Farina seen in an early 70s movie 'Sanjog'
There was an identical car in Bombay, which later deteriorated and eventually ended up in Madras a few years ago.

Very few other cars seen, apart from the Fiat 1100D taxi, which is fitted with a cool pair of wing mirrors and 'bullet' lights on the rear.

I remember that car used to lie below my grandmothers house at Dadar Hindu colony asking price 25k. Almost went to the ground. Any idea what condition it is in Madras? Would love to see it ship shape almost bought it that many years ago. Not that I wanted it but just felt sad for it!

I remember twas offered for sale @ 35k or so there. Was bought by someone known to Mr. Srivardhan ('Dussey') there, unfortunately wasnt in a position to go for it myself so didnt call the person who had it! 'never got any news of it thereafter, hope its gone to good hands!

Here is a song's link from the 1954 film Aar Paar starring Guru Dutt and Shyama. The song is sung by Mohammed Rafi and Geeta Dutt and set to tune by the rhythm king O.P. Nayyar.

I am unable to identify the car. To me it sometimes looks like a Hindustan 10 but the rear windscreen seen momentarily does not match. The Smiths meters on the dash show their black and white dials very clearly.

Many classics can be seen in the late 70s movie 'Suhaag' *ing AB, Shashi Kapoor and Amjad Khan.

However, it can be obviously made out that some of the action scenes have been clearly shot abroad, most likely the UK, and have been seamlessly fit into the middle of the movie!

It still should be, although would've fallen apart by now. Here's a shot of it, seen on a youtube video:

'wonder why they left such a car to rot, considering they can well afford to take care of it!

An less heard, old and lovely song here from the film Aakhri Dao (1958) set to tune by Madan Mohan. Nutan is seen crooning the song in a Studebaker Champion taxi that moves in Bombay. Madan Mohan also owned a Studebaker car which he loved and treasured.

Mohammed Rafi Sahab's old Premier car is featured here. Another picture of the same car posted earlier was its posterior view with some of his fans posing with the car. Ms Nasreen Sahiba still takes it out for a drive according to information on the link:

Mohammed Rafi's magic still lives on even 32 plus years after he passed away.

A song by Mohammed Rafi titled "Gore haathon pe na zulm karo", from Pyar Kiye Ja (1966):

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R59lrmNwYGA

It features a Standard Herald and an Austin Seven

Another song entitled "Kehni ki nahi baat" from the same film featuring Shashi Kapoor and his Austin Seven. Its ironical that such an ebullient Shashi Kapoor is wheelchair bound at present. We wish him good health forever :
