Yes a 1969 Dodge Charger R/T SE with me since maybe 15 years. Plan to fix in the next year. This was the original colour of the car with a vinyl roof covering. Saved it from a movie car garage, was sheduled to be blasted.

Periya Idathu Penn, 1963 (Tamil)

I came across this newspaper article featuring a Morris 8 Tourer, that supposedly was featured in the movie Periya Idathu Penn. I did watch the movie to try and find it but no luck.


I did however find something much more interesting, a 1948 Packard convertible that I'm told was owned by one of the stars, maybe MGR himself. The car was in terrible condition before being recently restored.

A 1960 Chevrolet Impala convertible. Unfortunately the print isn't clear and I cannot read the registration number to confirm if this is a popular film car.



Another 1960 Chevrolet Impala, but a sedan.


A 1956 two tone Plymouth


A star car in the film, a 1958 Cadillac that was V Shantaram's personal car, still retained by his son I'm told.



A 1955 Chevrolet Bel Air convertible, seen in many films but sporting a Gujarat registration here.

Pelli Kanuka, 1960 (Telugu)

An interesting vehicle seen in this film is a 1946 Ford Super Deluxe cab but what appears to be on a commercial / light truck chassis.

The movie prominently features a Herbie style character, a post 67 choptop VW Beetle that has a mind of its own.




Also seen is a cute Fiat 500 - the car survives in Mumbai.

An unidentified late 60s American convertible - maybe an Oldsmobile or Pontiac?



1960 Chrysler New Yorker convertible that has been seen atleast 12 films so far. The car has recently been restored in Hyderabad.


An Austin 12/4 Tourer that is in long term ownership in Mumbai, still survives though awaiting restoration.


A 1958 Chevrolet Impala convertible that is another movie veteran.


A 1964 Chevrolet Impala (previously seen in 'Duniya Meri Jeb Mein') has a run in with a 1951/52 Dodge (previously seen in 'Jhootha Kahin Ka'). It doesn't end well!




A Chevrolet Vega (?) that we also saw in Rafoo Chakkar and Chala Murari Hero Banne.
