In January 1934 a Rolls-Royce was offered for sale in Madras, described as an old racing model, and belonging to Annie Beasant. Is it a known car?

John Fasal identifies the car as a 1912 London Edenborough tourer by Holmes, chassis 2024.
Testimonials from the Maharaja of Patiala for Rolls-Royce cars in June 1914.
He is quoted as saying that the Rolls-Royce is "the best car in the world" - I wonder when RR first started using that line, and if it was the Maharaja who first used it :)

In June 1950 this piece appeared in the papers, a Rolls-Royce Tourer donated to the East Bengal refugee fund. Wonder what became of it. |
The car is almost certainly Silver Ghost 43AG, 3/4 Landaulette by Cunard Motor and Carriage Company
The Begum of Bhopal's Rolls-Royce burnt in a garage fire, 1925. The chassis number of the car in this unfortunate incident is unknown.
A Silver Ghost supposedly of Dholpur - can the experts identify it?

Very likely, chassis 1867, with updated electric lamps (the original were paraffin). The photo was taken at Dholpur, Feb 1918.
The "M" and "C" in the license plate likely stand for Montagu and Chelmsford as in the Montagu-Chelmsford Commission.
Spotted this Rolls Royce Phantom II Continental in Mumbai last Sunday. Apparently this car had participated in 2018 Pebble Beach Concours de elegance and won its class.
Here is a thread on this cars restoration.

Another RR, with such beautiful lines |
Identified as Silver Wraith WTA31, Park Ward on the R-R and Bentley FB page.
Some period pictures of royal Rolls-Royces published in October 1986.

A bunch of cars in Madras at an event in 1974, including the Rolls-Royce 20hp 85K6 now in the Bhogilal collection.

A rare shot of WVA20 when new, with original registration number DLA 4444 visible, when with the first owner the British High Commissioner.
