Incidentally this great car sold for just USD 55,000/- at the MECUM auction in August 2019.

And a good set of photos from MECUM here:

Looks like the 1927 GRJ1 Eng. No. W8E Barker Tourer, originally imported by Nawab of Sachin state, has found its way back to Pune after a brief stint in Delhi.

Expert consensus (including Steve Stuckey on Maharaja thread) that it is a Phantom II, chassis 78WJ, Hooper Tourer.

The Rolls Royce with the Scalloped mudguards is currently in the UK with Mr. Fasal. He recently completed the restoration of that car. I believe it is a car from the garage of the maharaja of Patiala.

What is perhaps the first serious Rolls-Royce accident in India (ca March, 1910). The car involved is a 1908 Silver Ghost (Chassis 60738). The owner, Mr.W.A .Beardsell was a prominent Madras businessman in the late 19th / early 20th century. The attached press reports detail the supernatural causes of the accident(s) near Anderson Bridge 😜

Some superb shots of a superb 20HP - 71A6 for Gwalior, and shortly after that Hyderabad (did Gwalior take delivery?)
