They are original to the 1100 selects alone. They were infact available in 3 different styles.
And nope unfortunately they arent available, except maybe with one or 2 odd dealers/ex-dealers who discover they have a small stock of these lying around in their shop and only one lucky person gets to pick it up!

PAVAN, thanks for the lovely and inspiring pictures of the classic FIATS.
They are definately in very good condition especially the '57 that has those lovely bumpers and original grill in very high quality chrome. How I wished that it had the original italian period headlights to give it that complete original look.

The Fish type side indicators on the select 61/62 are typical Indian ones locally manufactured. Italian pieces are history. However, in last few years, I have managed to scout 2 sets of those original ones for my FIATs and have literally stored them with an original FIAT monogram in bakelite (that comes on the ignition switch) in my Tijori, all wrapped up for future use. He! He!

These pictures have really excited us and please: do keep sending more, if available as we FCCCI guys out here literally, EAT, DRINK, BREATHE (and SLEEP) in FIATS.

BTW, i liked it for the very reason it is moded.
I guess you also remember me saying i wanted am AC and PS in a car which isnt possible in a classic.

Ok ok......sorry....got a tad emotionally carried away.....'guess you'd be too if you witnessed a coupla classics being hacked into bits that too when they were worth saving!

Bangalore has got lots of Fiats lying around, Infact my Father-in-law had one Millicento. He gave it off before i knew him. Sad part but anyways.

There's one that i've restored for my Cousin.

There's one my friend is restoring.

Wait for some more time till i get them.

With this thread i am trying to get in as many as Standing ready to run Classics and vintages.

They are resting at some place or the other.

Would require every one to participate.

With a small place like bangalore i am able to get these in my half day sojourn, What about the whole of country.

Lets document standing or resting classics through this thread.

Yes - here's one I spotted on the outskirts of Gandhingar, GJ.

This particular one is supposed to be a 1954, with the original engine. But papers are not available - will need to be created.

The head-lights of this one are straight (vertical), compared to a slight slant on the black 1100 that Pavan has posted.

Compare the logo at the rear of these two - the slant is different.

Logo on the steering is not original, but the dials & the switch stalks looked so. Car is in fair condition. Minimal rust seen outside.

Garage owner said it is his car. Guess it was abandoned. He says people have asked for it, but he doesnt want to give it. But mentioned a price of 75k being offered.

At the same place as the Fiat 1100's above :

A 1938 Minor with the original side-valve engine. Along side is a 1974 Ford Falcon 500.

Condition is quite good. Not much rusting seen.

The dash is in a bad state. The stereo was stolen, and now the left & right panels have bakelite-like plates. Except for the main guages - speedo & clock (?), the rest are from a Mahindra.

Engine has been replaced with a diesel. Papers good. Was apparantely sold recently by the owner of the Merc dealer in Ahmedabad for about 1.5L.

They say where ever you go, you will find a Mallu. And this small garage on the outskirts of Gandhinagar, GJ, is proof to that. He said he has worked in KL, TN, KA, and also in the Gelf with Toyota before coming back and settling in GJ.

i see a white willys jeep at the background if i am not wrong

and BTW what is the black car in the background? is it some 80's american import? like caprice ..malibu or anything?

I also want to pick up the original steel wheels for these Fiats. Are they all 14" Did they come in different widths?

PAVAN, thanks for the awesome pictures of our favourite FIATs.
The black '55 millicento is in great condition and one of the finest condition Fiats on road.
The other two (White and Beige Fiats) are also definately worth restoring and have the potential to come up to A-grade condition. Both the bodylines look clean and free from rust. A good professional paint job is all that is needed to bring out the Best from them.
What a pity that they stand abandoned and no longer have a caring owner.:Frustrati

14" steel rims with hub cap clips are the ones that came from '54 to '67 or '68. I am not aware if they ever came in different widths. If you try hard you can hit upon a reasonably good condition used set from old cars being scrapped.
Radials never came as standard OE fitment on above FIATS. You'd rather do well fitting CEAT SAFETY DRIVES (rarely available today) or MRF (easily available but not standard OE fitment) white walls. These will give the FIATS a PERIOD and very elegant look if you are planning to restore into ORIGINAL (unmodified) condition.
