It's conveying that just as Charlie Chaplin is dependable for a great performance, in the same way even the Prefect is dependable for great performance.

The 118NE was considered to be a mid-size luxury car in India in the 1990s. It had two different gear shifts, column shift with bench seat in the front and the floor shift with bucket seats. The floor shift was more popular though.

The Pal Premier, is it a licensed Fiat 124, like the Russian Vaz?

Actually, PAL brought the tooling for 118NE from Seat of Spain which produced Fiat 124 under licence and sold it as Seat 124.

Bajaj too used to have some nice ad's. Here's a TVC for the Sunny Zip

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=noopicQ2aig

That Sunny was something. Looked frail, but have seen it carry some not so light people.

Sunny is the best! We have two, run in any weather, all seasons.
That video is cleaver, with its slogan ”easy come, easy go”.

It's an advert from May 1952 when the Fiat - Premier Auto JV was just a couple of years old & the 500C Topolino was its first model assembled in India. Note the reference to the 1909 Model 0 the first Fiat in India.

Superb! The early Fiat still survives in the Bhogilal collection (I believe it had just one previous owner, a Mr. Bhatena). Though it isn't the first Fiat in India.
The oldest one to my knowledge that survives dates from about 1906, in a private collection in Indore.

What about the Patiala Fiat, wouldn't that be the oldest ?

Good question. I wouldn't know how to tell, but they look of somewhat similar vintage.

Thanks!!
:Cheering:
Maintenance is easy - they don’t need it! rl: Seriously though: spare parts are an issue but then again the Sunnys are so robust that they rarely need them.
