The Premier 118NE (Nissan engine), was built on a version of the Fiat 124. PAL had a a partnership with Fiat right from the millicento times. The 118NE was considered to be a mid-size luxury car in India in the 1990s. It had two different gear shifts, column shift with bench seat in the front and the floor shift with bucket seats. The floor shift was more popular though. |

The Pal Premier, is it a licensed Fiat 124, like the Russian Vaz? |
It's an advert from May 1952 when the Fiat - Premier Auto JV was just a couple of years old & the 500C Topolino was its first model assembled in India. Note the reference to the 1909 Model 0 the first Fiat in India. |

The oldest one to my knowledge that survives dates from about 1906, in a private collection in Indore. |

an Itala and a Fiat are on display in one of the state run museums in Patiala, probably in one of the palace museums. This must be the oldest Fiat in the country? |
