Two Yezdi advertisements here..................How these have multiplied over the decade!! |
I like the "handbook" tyres on the Fintail. Must be very rare:uncontrol
But why cover the contacts when these were openly published ads? Just asking.

I camouflaged the contacts as these are quite old, to protect the sellers privacy. After all, some of them might have quit ownership of vintages while some may have bid goodbye to this world and so on. Had these been current, it would not have been an issue. Some enthusiasts may try and dial them. :)
Some more advertisements:

Another one from Auto India of December 1996- A 1937 Plymouth for the price quoted! Unimaginable!

Some more here:-
Auto India May 1996- the Morris 8 was quoted for that price. Actually, this was on the higher side as I had myself been searching for one around 1997 and was able to get one for about 1/3 this price, though not in a very good condition. I did not buy it.
The Vespa PL 170 brochure.

This is a classified form Indian Auto Journal August 1987
Another classified form Indian Auto Journal September 1990

This 1937 Plymouth was owned by the Delhi based Photographer Bedi who sold it then to Taj Hotels in Rajasthan
Mercedes-Benz advertisement from Sept 1970 – LIFE Magazine.
It was double page advert. Those of you who remember LIFE may recall that double page of LIFE was like more than a A 3 size. So I had to scan it in two pages and combine them back. I am also posting the separate pages as they were
Look at the control room then and compare it with current one. Also the test track methods to test the stability with actual mechanical devises being made to swing in to the path of the car
Hope you like them

Apropos control room, I got a chance to see some testing fascility in Mercedes-Benz in Stuttgart. They had kept as a display a couple of older control rooms and devices, it was very fascinating to see the differences and advancement in instrumentation technology. Principle will basically be the same, but advancement in performance and evaluation, logging of data is mind boggling.

Harit, is it the Sindelfingen (off Stuttgart/ Boblingen) facility you are talking about? When did you visit this place?
I had been there in 2001, just on 9/11. After returning to my hotel room, the same evening, I was horrified to see images of the Twin Towers destruction followed by news of other damages inflicted.
:OT A visit to the Mercedes plant was a different experience altogether, that I have shared here.

So would you say that cars have given a better return than the Bank since 1990? a rover like this in the condition advertised would sell between 8-10 lakh rupees today
Mazda Advertisement from Sept 1970 LIFE.
The catch line didn't turn out to be prophetic at all, isn't it.
The Wankels did not catch on at all and what they claimed to be throwing out is still very much in use by all including the Mazda.
A product still not in its time ?
The R 100 featured in the advert looks still stylish though
