I believe a 1612 chassis costs about Rs 15 lakh today. So thats about a 7 % pa compounded price increase over the past 62 years (or maybe a bit lesser, say 6 % pa, considering that todays models are better equipped than those days (power steering, etc).

This Premier Roadmaster truck brochure was shared on a faceboook page. I remember seeing a similar truck, a fire engine, at the Premier Auto plant in Kurla, which was taken over by Fiat at the time. I assume it was scrapped when they sold the premises. I don't know of any of these that survive actually!

Chanced upon this 1940s Chevy truck - so common at one time, now almsot extinct. This particular one seems to be running complete Tata drivetrain.

Unlikely that this is a Unicef car , because usually Unicef cars are all RHD.
More likely to be a Ex Embassy car, because it is a 1978 car which has been registered in Bhopal sometime in the nineties .
