Aah, thank you!! clap:

Yes, I did take these pics. But, as I said, they appear to have been lost from my PC when it once had to be formatted!

Nevertheless, I know whom to count on should something like this happen! :D

Coming back to the car, even I liked it better in this shade than the present hue. Oh well...!

Hi Guys

Nice restoration, please post pics of teh engine bay and the dash.

On another note my dad used to own one of these cars just after he married my mom in the early seventies. He had named it Naseem Banu after Saira Banu's mom..never learned why.

The funny thing was that it was not in a very good shape as far as the engine went and would have trouble climbing some of the steep hill roads in Banjara Hills Hyderabad so my dad would drive the car up in reverse as he said the reverse gear was more powerfull than the first gear !

There was hardy any traffic on those roads in those days !

He then traded it with a friend for a 6 cyl 48 Vauxhall Veox that was nice and powefull.

It was a complete restoration along with a couple of parts re-build(hand made). My Grandpa imported this car brand new via an importer in Delhi in 1948 so we have pretty much had it since ever. However, we stopped using it from the 60's onwards (due to repair parts not being available). The car had just been sitting in our family garage since then till now :)

I would surely do that, I had to come over to US for something related to work but would post more detailed pictures once I am back. About the emblem, its correct and is supposed to be this ways. :) ...

Sure! Thanks. Would post the pictures very soon. About interiors, the car originally came with cream leather/rex interiors and we had to do some labour to find the exact color tone and material but we are happy now.

As per the number, a Hyderabad car. There was a similar one here that was green. Must be the same. Can you pm me the full number so I could check?

This car was up for sale about a year ago. I believe the advertisement was posted here in the "For Sale" thread, in our very own Vintage and Classics Section. It is an import and this particular Minx Series was not sold in India, I believe.
