Like every year the vintage gala event from the East is scheduled on Sunday, 19.01.2025. The changed venue for the 2025 V&C Rally is Royal Calcutta Turf Club (RCTC) grounds, Hastings, Kolkata. The flag-off commences at 10.00 am from this new venue.

Through clubs and congregations, vintage lovers have been organizing events in Kolkata, with many owners and observers privately revealing that the Statesman event has become monotonous. Let us hope that the Grand Old The Statesman takes a serious note and reboots itself with due dynamism in sync with the changing times and the scenario.

Day 1 of Pre-Judging of Vintage Cars ahead of the 54th Statesman Vintage and Classic Car Rally began today. The Day 2 for pre-judging, preceding the main event will be tomorrow.

I am from Kolkata and keen to see the gleaming beauties line up in the event. Unlike the yester years this year's venue at RCTC being new, and that I do not have any entry pass this year, can you kindly help to let me know as to enter through which of the RCTC Gates, will the security personnel at all allow me to enter without invitation pass

@pgcars, entry is through gate #22 on the Khidderpore Road. Rally flag off commences at 10.00 am. For entry they had issued passes from The Statesman House.

Having been a proper resident of Kolkata for the past year and a half, I got the opportunity to take in a quick visit to the Statesman Vintage and Classic Car Rally this Sunday the 19th Jan ‘25 (today). This year the venue has changed to the Royal Calcutta Turf Club (RCTC, gate no 22, near Kidderpur) and we arrived early to ensure that we got a place to sit and take pictures as the cars rolled by - as we were informed by the staff at the Statesman office, where we had gone earlier to collect our passes and the car parking coupon. This was pure wishful thinking, since we found no such arrangements! However it was a very pleasant Sunday morning and visitors were thronging the place when we got there around 9 am.
Also unlike other similar venues elsewhere, the majority of the participating vehicles/owners had not put up posters/placards highlighting any details of their vehicles. So we had to do our own guesswork as to the antecedents of the vehicles! Alright, so without further do, let the photos do the talking. And dear members, kindly forgive the photo quality, since I’m basically point & shooter and did my best.
