What inputs would you like regarding the Super 10? I myself own 2 similar vehicles, a 57 and 60 model. They are fun to drive, and reliable as daily runners if properly maintained. Have you located a vehicle? If so, what is the condition? Photos will always help.

Spares are increasingly difficult to source locally, though the Standard Motor Club in Uk provides excellent support.

Can you give us some history on the car?

Do contact the Standard Motor Club for any help you may need.

Thank you Karl and Shyam. The car was painted (touchups) last week just in time for the rally. I searched frantically for the parking lights here in Chennai but in vain. Can someone help me in locating a pair of the parking lights?

Wooooow, awesome jai!! I just gasped when I saw your car's interior especially!! 100% ORRIGINAL- right down to the upholstery!!

Keep it up, AND keep it- forever!!

Even the non-original ampere meter has been fitted very thoughtfully in the blanking plate in the dash centre, thus NOT ruining the dash panel at all! 'wish the person who'd fitted one on my pennant's dash was as thoughtful!!

BTW, I happen to be in Madurai now, returning to Madras on 6th (then leaving for home the same evening) so if possible 'would love to meet up with you and check out your beauty!

I was lucky to be able to find what would have been the last remaining pair of original lenses for my car- now for my companion, I intend to import these. Only trouble is, they don't seem to have service for India, as I was not able to find it in their list while attempting to buy from them once.
Other alternative is, the site Canley Classics - Welcome to Canley's Online !

These parking lights came on the early Triumph spitfire as well, so go to their online shop, and into the Spitfire parts category.

Good luck!

Stanher,

You want only lenses or full set of flasher indicator ?

they are available in eBay - The UK's Online Marketplace

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Pair-Lucas-Round-Flasher-Indicator-L594-1930s-60s_W0QQitemZ330310425316QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_Car sParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM?hash=item330310425316& _trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=72%3A1683|66%3A2|65 %3A12|39%3A1|240%3A1318

if you are not using ebay, have a look, some sellers mentioned postage price to India and let me know what you want, I will get it for YOU.....

regards

Well in terms of spares and maintenance, the Fiat is the obvious choice. Very comfortable, roomy and a joy to drive even in traffic. The Standard however will turn more heads and is much rarer and more valuable. Depends on what you are looking for.

If you share pictures of both the cars we can get a better idea of condition.

This is by far the best preserved car I have seen. Mine too has original upholstry but with fixed covers fitted over it. Those keys are very precious, keep them safely at home and use duplicates. I see one has already been repaired. I found a Silca Italy unit with the exact same dimensions which I use for daily use, keeping the originals at home.

Try and get original pedal rubbers, a squarish design. The glovebox lock also appears to be different. Fit carpeting in the car, it will transform the look.

Did you get an owners manual with the car?

Jai: must say that your Pennant is indeed immaculate to the core. One of the best I have seen in the recent past. Hang on to her and preserve her for life.
