Spotted this mark one in a by-lane off Shivaji Park. Heartening to see a Herald in Mumbai, thought they'd all dried up ! Anyways, I don't think this car is of a very high.. er, standard. (Just couldn't resist this one !)
Look at what he has done to the rear window !! This one seems a daily runner, though.

Hey, interesting coincidence- I remember seeing pics. of this car before (although can't say if the same location or not) uploaded by another tbhpian (danlan I think)
Yeah, it sure is pretty sad man! Sure is one disfigured car!
Although, unless I look at those previous pics. I can't say if the rear side window was modded then itself. But truly worst of all is that bonnet!!
Infact, the original way it opens is all the more convenient, especially for mechanics! It's totally unnecessary to change it to this way!

Anyways, if cars like this end up in chor bazaar (I should shoot myself for saying this, I know!) I'd like to have all the side-pattis, door handles, boot hinges, roof badges and tail-lamp covers...:slurp:

OT: that choco-brown SS80 behind it reminds me of my own car (same colour!)

The first and second gears are so tall that the car would climb a tree.
Maybe the car lost compression or had slipping clutch then.

come on man!I was just going through my memory 23 years down the line.I am sure those cars were scraped long before.You may find luck if you lurk through police stations across kerala.those are the places which still got old stocks .

Uh, I take it that Thattukadai means food stalls (since thattu = plate in tamil)?? I have a very remote connection with Malyalam, through my mother-tongue tamil!

Stanher, always hungry for more Standards.
I saw few Standard 20 (Micro) used everyday near Coimbatore.
The rear is like a mini lorry and not like a van.
Will post photos soon.

A Standard 8 is up for sale at Madurai.
Let us see if it suits Mr Dabhar Behram's interest.

I can't comment on Mr. Dhabar's interest but it certainly suits MY interest!
