Hey! Thanks for the message! So I actually don’t have any information regarding the two exact cars as it was way before my time. I will try and find out the name of the movie in which the DeSoto was featured. However, regarding my post, I’m looking to hopefully purchase either one of these cars if there are any on sale.

Its a botched up job

• Uses Fiat rims
• The front grill is not original and very badly fitted
• An Ambassador rear screen is grafted on as a windscreen (1953 were two piece)
• The wiper pattern was never like that

The split windscreen was in vogue till 1955. In 1956, they replaced it with the single windscreen as a part of their refresh job for the Minor 1000 with an upgraded engine. In India all imports had the split windscreen.By 1954-55 imports were stopped at HM's behest, as they got the licence to assemble the Minor 1000 as the Baby Hindustan. All these had the single windscreen.

This one purportedly from 1953 has a single windscreen. What's under the bonnet also needs to be checked too for more surprises.

To me it appears to have been a rust bucket that has been botched up and is now put up for sale to search for gullible targets.
