I sold my 1976 Premier Padmini a couple of years back to a scrap dealer for 5K. Sadly. Had spent a lot of money on it. Had replaced the front bench seat with bucket seats of Maruti 800. Tried to make the radiator a closed system with coolant bottle picked up from a Maruti Van but the radiator core burst and then had to replace it with a heavy duty radiator picked from an ambassador. Replaced the spark plugs with Japanese twin point ones. The tyres were changed to radials. Got the roof lining changed to a fixed velvet type after pasting insulation in between. The steering wheel was replaced by the latest last model Premier Padmini steering wheel. Had removed the tray from under the dashboard since it used to foul with my feet (being 6'4" tall). The front doors had rotted hence replaced them with the latest last model type available without the quarter glass. With the heavy duty radiator, I was able to fit in an AC to keep the cabin cool. It was a white beauty in mint condition but had to let it go with a heavy heart. | |

The interiors and everything was recently done and well kept, was a sad day. But it was difficult to keep it the way it deserved. My first car (2005 - M800) now takes its place in the garage, happily under the shade after so many years of sun. And added an RR310 to the stable along with my 2009 Hunk. | |
