Though this is not actually a '64 but a later model Mk2, with the broad C-pillar and flat bootlid. Bonnet has been modified to the "conventional" type.

Came across an interesting ad. Is it legal to sell RC book without the vehicle?

It is very much illegal to sell RC documents alone.Actually legally, even when someone decides to scraps the vehicle, you have to surrender the RC book to the MVD and inform them that you intend to scrap the vehicle. This is to prevent misuse of the Registration number,RC etc.

+1 to that Stanher!

Also, it is silly of the seller, as it is kind of obvious that such old R.C books are to be given off to the Regional Transport Office. Another thing
to note is the manner and grammar by which he has written the advertisement.

Simply Hilarious!

Note a real classic but posting here because of the atrocious price demanded

Didn't you notice the "4x4" in the description? May be one of a kind!

re: Classic Cars available for purchase

These days the price quoted doesn't seem to be unreasonable,I know of a 1962 ambassador in an average condition was sold for 2 lakhs. Moreover even if one has a car and goes about doing a groundup restoration it would cost a minimum of 1 to 1.3 lakhs.Correct me if I am wrong

There is a posting in t-bhp itself for a 1960 Mark 1 Amby. http://classifieds.team-bhp.com/buy-...bassador.html/

From the pictures, seems to be in good condition, but with chroming required and maybe a switch back to an OHV engine. But as Venkat rightly mentioned you need to factor in additional 1L plus for a good restoration work.

Not to mention, the posts are gramatically incorrect. For example, 'Ambassador' is spelled as 'Anbasador'.

Also, the seller has misspelt his own name!

Lastly, the 4x4 part!

Cheers!

Fintail/Heckflosse!

If I am not mistaken 1962 is a Mark 1 model and we are here talking of a Mark2 model.Mark 1 is much more in demand and valued than Mark2.
I know of 2 Mark 2cars sold in Trivandrum recently. Both were single owner petrol cars.the first was bought by one of our moderators for less than one lakh and the second one a former taxi was sold for Rs.35000/-!!
There are still good maintained cars (no ground up restoration needed) available for less than Rs.75000/-.This is specific to Mark 2 ambassadors and not Mark 1
