When I see many of the classic / vintage car or bike ads these days, for a moment I go "ummm... isn't that an extra zero in the end? Could it be a typo?". After a second or two, the expression changes to "Really?! 1,00,000/- for a rotten Mofa??".

I feel it's becoming more and more difficult to find an honest deal online these days.

Honesty sir please do share what that means. Soon you may be accused of not knowing the latest contemporary meaning of honesty and the definition you and I know may become the opposite

A 1936 Morris eight tourer for sale in Trichur
http://classifieds.team-bhp.com/buy-...Morris-8.html/
Íf I am not mistaken this car was ""restored"" by the Koratty mechanic duo and was advertised in the forum classifieds itself in 2011.The only difference from then is the asking price has become more UNREALISTIC.At that time it was only 12lakhs!!!

Remember unlike to good old times advertising is free, so people do not care about what they ask for something. In the good old days newspaper ads cost a bomb so people priced their cars to sell lest they'd have to place another ad. But if something does not sell for a looong time then its probably priced incorrectly. That is my experience. cheerio

re: Classic Cars available for purchase

I think middle men/dealers quoting high prices and people readily buying them is causing the over pricing. also people not wanting to sell their cars but quoting the price they would start thinking about selling it at.

I agree to your view about people not wanting to sell quoting high prices
But these days people are not really buying mass produced classic cars at unrealistic prices.
Also the ads you have referred to are all not fake ads but definitely dealer broker ads.
See the same person from ahmedabad has advertised a Pontiac also

I think this car was advertised by another guy from Chennai an year ago

Yes you are correct. It is a genuine car and a genuine ad
But the asking price is unfortunately doesnt seem genuine, Seventeen lakhs for a 56 plymouth sedan which has not been started for 10-15 years and requires cosmetic restoration!!
