If the car is in INDIA, it is most likely to be a Hindustan14, the indian version of the Morris OXFORD MO because very very few Morris OXFORDS came to INDIA whereas there were thousands of Hindustan14 cars in the country. moreover you had mentioned Morris only then for argument sake the advertiser can very well claim then that the 1964 Ambassador is also a Morris (Oxford seriesII)

You mean series III!

Series II would be Landmaster.

Actually the earliest (948cc) Heralds never had any rubber cappings on the bumper, just plain bumpers:

We apparently carried it forward when the Herald was introduced in India, even the engine being the same 948cc! although twas replaced by the 1200 in the UK.

Although there were chrome cappings available as an accessory for these:

As for this car, its a plain old STANDARD Herald, albeit an early (62) model, going by the mesh type bonnet vents and was owned by my known bodywork garage guy who's worked on my car as well. He had converted it to a convertible as the roof had rusted badly, and had also fitted the TRIUMPH and MAYFLOWER badges you see on it. The dash and guages, however, are of a later Herald. He had the car until around 5-6 years ago. I'd seen it a couple of years later for sale with the successive owner, asking price was 2L and was floated as a 'TRIUMPH'!

Here are some pics. of it then:

Should this be called a beetle even, Just imagine what the price would be if it had a top. Alas I don't have a circus or else I would have bought this car.

What a beauty! Unfortunately with all the originality she still remains a Austin. I am not sure even a rover can command such prices. But a nice car for 5-6 lakhs that's what it would sell for in england in this condition.
