I came across this Hillman Manx which was put up for sale in Andheri. Here are the details incase anyone is interested :

Model : 1954 Hillman Minx
Dealer : Velocity Motors (:: Velocity Cars ::)
Car Location : Guru Nanak Petrol Pump on Andheri Kurla Road
Price : Rs 100,000. Negotiable - as is condition. No papers at all. However the dealer is willing to get all the transfer sets signed by the seller.

This very original 1954 Desoto is up for sales with a friend of mine in Bangalore. He wants to sell because of lack of parking space. This is a Karnataka car with documents fully updated.

There are also some parts available with the car

Front Windscreen(glass),dynamo,self starter, fuel,carburetor,brake drums with cylinders,steering wheel,leaf springs,front coil springs,water pump, rear lights,engine gasket kit,

Interested parties may PM me and I will connect you with the owner directly as I am not too keen to be part of the price negotiation. Considering that this is in original condition and there are parts available with the car, it will be not come cheap.

This desoto looks like the one which was owned by Waseem in Chickmaglore and was for sale .It was dark green in colour .If my info is correct it was sold to this guy for Rs.3.75 lakhs in 2010.It was later put up for sale by the Bangalore guy in AUTO INDIA in early 2011.

Guys, I have seen this FIAT upclose, and the car is INDEED very original. Few things are MIS-FIT

1) Rims
2) Missing parts of the front grille.
3) The wiper motor is Magnetti Marelli, missing the wiper stalks,

Leaving the above few things, the car is indeed a clean car. And the BHPían selling this car is not a Dealer, he runs a TATA ASC in Mysore, and has 2 VW Beetles, and one half Variant with him

I was supposed to have sent some of these parts to sparx months ago. Looks like this pic was taken before they reached. Sorry for the delay sparx!

Since I have dealt with him in the past, I too can vouch for him. He has painstakingly procured quite a few hard-to-find parts for this vehicle.

Also not to forget, he made me send my upholstery guys all the way to Mysore for 4 days to work on this car.

So i would say, before we make any comment on cars advertised by a fellow BHPían, we understand the labour of love gone behind the said car.
