Same owner has also bought an sl 500amg. And fitted a new exhaust system for a bomb once again. Sound very pleasing though

Sometime back I came across a same gen S-Class (W108), again very sadly dieselised. I really like the looks of these Mercs, they have a combo of the bulbous lamps similar to the Fintail generation with a more modern body shell. It probably was a 250 or 280S, the owner couldn't confirm.

You have to be well acquainted with these Mercs to distinguish from the outside between the 250/280S, and the larger engined 300 SEL 4.5's and the ultimate 300 SEL 6.3's. The US spec versions of the 300 SEL's with the twin head lamps had a really novel lamp washer wiper-on a single pivot, the twin blades were shaped in such a way that both lamps got washed at the same time! A small but great piece of engineering.

Regarding sourcing a petrol engine for dieselised cars such as this, it's a headache. I tried, found a next gen V6 engine, a transplant that I read on the net which should have no problem according to owners, but backed out when I realized that doing it would be complex.

The SL sold today. Someone from out of town came and closed the deal with the owner. Hope its found a great home

any details on the sale? how much did they strike it at finally? would be a great indicator if the high price being asked for was real or just a point for negotiation.

My Family Friends 1986 MAF registered Fiat Premier Padmini is up for sale if anyone is Interested. Was in Running Condition until a few months back. All trims in Place. Good Tread on tyres. No Dents or stuff Like that, a Little rust at the sills though.. Asking 25K. Will click and send pics if anyone is interested.

Dont know the exact figure but based on.the asking price and previous offers I am guessing low to mid twenties........
