re: Classic Cars available for purchase

why not ask the advertiser to send pics of the car and then we can all decide what model the car actually is?

The front grille for India did not have this kind of brass badging as above. The front badge was simply Fiat on the bonnet. The rear had the Millicento badge in the space where 1100 appeared in later models. There may be few survivors of such models in India.
Yes anjanji. I had asked that question deliberately so that someone like you will come out with this.I have previously also mentioned that there was a Fiat model called MILLICENTO in India in between the elegant and the Select, but many fiat experts in this forum were not ready to accept that. I have seen the same car in few numbers in Kerala upto the 90's

I think this is going off topic and should be discussed separately. This is a topic for sale not further scrutiny of what some one is selling. That can be shifted to a new topic all together.

Cheers

Correct kasli. We can continue discussion on another more relevant Fiat thread, for now lets get back to the topic at hand - purely for informing fellow enthusiasts of cars or bikes for sale.

Thanks.

It probably is the reason for the comparitively low price? Maybe a replacement engine can be sourced.

Usual translation for Red Pig in Marathi = Red Dukkar

So AFAIK Millecento is usually referred to as Dukkar ( which is the term used to address the PIG )

Sorry guys for going , but could not hold myself from laughing after seeing Shyam's predicament..

If we are refering to the same car as I am thinking, top class restoration has been done. That also cost a bomb

This Mercedes was a private concept later adopted by Mercedes Benz. The correct model name is Mercedes-Benz 300 SEL 6.3, used a lot of mechanicals including engine from the Mercedes 600 of that time. More info is available on the net.
This 6.3 is almost a trademark, today you have the Mercedes-Benz AMG E63. The engines were subsequently uprated, but 6.3 or 63 stuck on.

Cheers harit

Yes Harit, it most likely is.my friend carried out the restore and they did spend a bomb. Very sporting owner. 3lacs plus for original bumpers, new rag top.its a 280sl. Don't remember how many kms run

Same owner has also bought an sl 500amg. And fitted a new exhaust system for a bomb once again. Sound very pleasing though
