What is the Bobby's USP in the vintage and Classic bike market?

I remember this was a half-hearted attempt by Rajdoot when their scooter failed.

The only thing going for it was the movie Bobby. Otherwise it doesnt have any engineering or design brilliance to talk about. Actually its very badly designed and a pain to ride around.

I recall images of a circus monkey riding one of these when I had gone visiting a circus in town almost a couple of decades back.

Well said spitfire , the bike is difficult to ride for someone who is more than 5"8 . Though i have sold lots of them , haven"t kept a single one for my collection since frankly i find it a bit "awkward"

wbd8779: Since you have sold a few. Why do most of the folks buy it for? And do they get them for keeps? Or is it to resell?

You mention prices of 15-20k but here in Bangalore there is one guy quoting 60k. I wasn't sure why.

Well spitfire , it is more of a herd syndrome , most of the buyers have not owned a classic vehicle before and just want to hitch a ride on the bandwagon.

The trend that i have seen is that most , i guess 50% of the Chennai and Banglore buyers (no offence meant to anyone PLEASE) are only resellers and not real users/collectors.

I believe the one that is for sale in Banglore currently was also bought from me.

@ Prabal: Even after proper resto, it would be less than the cost being quoted above. How Long.. well that depends on you. Even if being laziest, I would say 2 months at max.

Well the picture certainly is not genuine. Its not even of a 64 Impala.

Its a '60 Impala, and I doubt its of the car in question- looks like something he got from the net. Maybe he just searched for 'Impala' pics.

The pictured car I think was a Delhi car now in Bombay, painted black.

The sedan you speak of (Pune collection-which was at one time sold as a pair with your biscayne) is currently with the same person as the black convertible. The Black convertible I am told is for sale.
