Expert advise ?
Not an expert but none of the lights excepting the Light on the grill are original. The seats are non-original and so seem the Petrol tank lock and the steering wheel. I may be wrong but am sure the experts will tread by this way.

I have decided to part with my 1955 model Land Master.
Reasons: have a Problem with Parking space & other priorities also.
It is becoming hard for me to give justice to the car & looking for someone who will do that .
I will be trying selling her here only for a while & then go for the classifieds. The intention is clear, I dont want to sell her to an Agent. I want someone with Right Attitude & Passion.
This car has a Very sound body. though originallity is Marginal. It has An ohv engine, a floorshift & is mechanically very sound. Also has 4 new tyres (three of them completly Brand New) & Battery is ok. Interior is good, with tinted glasses. Though a coat of paint is needed
The paperwork is perfect, One time Tax paid & RRC valid till Oct. 2013.
Also she has a bit of history, according to the last owner she was gifted to State Of Bombay by the HM & was in vip fleet hence the No. BML 9999
I expect 80 K
This may sound steep but the car is fully worth that money, as mostly the cosmatical part needs taking care.
Anyone Interested will have to PM me as I have decided to give Priority to BHP members First , as a token of my respect to you all
Yours Sudarshan
I have mixed feelings to share today .

I am sad as the car is sold

I am happy that it has gone to a Better Car Lover. Finally she belonged to him , it seems like that .

this car will be taken better care & will be restored .

The new owner is a BHP member , I will not announce his name , its his right.

yours Sudarshan

The car looks restorable, nothing very special in condition but today even to see this is difficult. Major items seem in place, not much is altered. Is the top available? These were offered with a detatchable hard top (hence you don't see a soft top). Price? Hehe, difficult to say. Given the opportunity I would pay around 30k for the car. Two years back I would have offered 15k. Five years back I wouldn't even consider it. You get my drift.

Considering the costs, effort involved in sourcing parts, restoration etc, and being a HERALD in my view a good price would be 25000/-.keep in mind that you will end up spending almost 3-4times by the time the car gets to concours standards

OK, firstly, it is NOT a convertible! If the seller tells you it is, do not believe him and get tempted to pay the price of an original convertible for it!

It's just a saloon with the roof stripped off- too many people have done that to Heralds unfortunately!
As karl says, it is not too difficult to restore, since most of the major cosmetics are in place. The bonnet "Standard" badge is really difficult to get now!
Reg. price, I would go by what karl and ajay99 indicate. Take half if not the full amount in cash with you when you go there, if you're doing the deal with seller in person.
If you are compelled to offer more than that, I suggest you leave it, as you can still get a better car at a slightly higher price than that if you're patient enough, trust me!

That Herald is clean, But for the Soft top. Its a made convertible to my eyes.

Spares are extremely difficult for Heralds, That means that there are very less Heralds available. so make a wise decision before buying.

Hey Sudarshan,
Sad to hear that you sold your Landie.
After the recent off road trips and those wonderful times you had with your Landie, i thought you would retain it.
I've been through parking problems and i understand.
Don't worry buddy. Hope for better times ahead!
Cheers,
Deepak

Mechanical items are still available in some places not sure about cosmetic items like the lenses and things, but head lamp rims and are available. You can get the spares from abroad as well that's not much of a problem.
