And do you think the price to come down. In cities where we live any thing antique or classic goes with a bomb pricing and Pawan's pricing of 20K might hold good for a small town like Rewa (M.P.), Bhandara (Maharashtra) where people just don't know the value.

A month ago an Hindustan 14 came for sale at 11 k (original but rotting) and then recently a mix and match Millicento was bought for 17K all in small town.

There are two thing one can do

1. Buy what is available, be happy with that.

2. venture out, look around, go into small towns and you will be rewarded.

case in point being my own car, bought for 40% of the prevaling rates (for 1959 select) in Bangalore.

@ Pawan: Can you get me a Dukkar for 20K in bangalore, I think not, same is the case with Mumbai.

@Manish: That's the impression I have given to the seller. That I have more & better choices from smaller town so he should re-consider the price. The closer look of this car doesn't gives you good vibes so am playing safe & is keeping other options open. I'm ready for anything classic & Vintage as-far-as its at right cost. for example am considering one microbus from BLR.
Have not done so yet, but will request Pavan to help me out there.

There are exceptions to the rule however. In 1990, I came across a 1929 Ford Model A which was not very original, but was in regular use at Amravati in Maharashtra.Had a talk with the owner guy and he demanded Rs 60,000.I offered Rs 40 K but he did not agree at all as some folks from Nagpur had told him about the "goldmine" that he was owning.
Earlier till the early 1980's Ford Model A taxis were a regular sight in Amravati district and its surrounding villages, ferrying tens of passengers and this was one such car.

Speaking of Amravati, I vaugely remember a ford model A truck, an Impala and host of other cars with him.

He had offered me Impala + Morris minor + Another vintage all in one lot for 150 grand . And I am a dumb guy.

This car sports fender indicators of a 220, headlights look like Beetle replicas. Amber round indicator light is also wrong.
Looks nice, but one has to check a bit deeper.

Cheers harit

I had enquired about this car and the asking price was Rs. 8.5 lacs for it. The car has had a grounds up restoration and runs perfectly well according to the owner.

I hope that the car is neater than the ground it is standing on.

I would still check, it looks good, maybe restored to sell.

Cheers harit

Interested, anyone? It's a well-desired classic, going at a very reasonable price too!
