Vintage car/bike show, Chennai 22-Jul-2007

Read about this in the newspapers and went to check it out at Don Bosco school, Egmore. There was an impressive collection of vintage cars, of varying vintage. I am no expert on vintage cars and don't really dig them also. But it was nice to see such a lot of cars lined up. There were something like 75-100 cars at the show.

While we are there, we bump into nitrous and headers. nitrous is going around offering frivolous prices for these beauties. eg. for an awesome Ford Mustang, he quoted something like 2lakhs. If not for his bulk, I am sure he must have got something more than he bargained for.

Anyway, here come the pictures for those of you who love vintage (for me, the only vintage I love is McDowell Vintage whisky). I could not take more than 31 snaps as my digicam does not work with any memory Card other than the 16MB that came with it. So, sorry about missing some of the beauties.

These kids came in a 7-series Beemer.
And contrary to what my wife said, i was only focussing on the cars.

Wow, the Mustang. Man it was huge.

nitrous checking out the car before offering a grand price of 2lakhs.

The giant with the dwarf-ish car

Ajmat, that Etype is one of the finest vintages in the country.
It was brought down from the UK just weeks back.
The guy seen with the cowboy hat is the owner and is pretty popular at the tracks. He keeps his collection like jewels.
@SB: Im never telling U anything hereafter!

Great pictures SB. The Orange Mini carries the same registration number as my car .

Nitrous managed to do a nice ad for the Mini. How was it when you went around asking for prices for the cars?

Show us more pictures guys!

AWWWWWWWWWWSOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!

SsimBLy amazzzzing I sayyyy!!! :flabbergasted:

How I wish I'd been there for this event!!

Whats more surprising, I see a fair number of standards at this event....a black companion & a navy blue herald with a white stripe (both seen in the first pic. only!), a Standard Vanguard plus a not-so-'standard' Herald, the LHD TRIUMPH Herald (WBJ 3894).....ahh.....cant say any more......!

Superb pics, some fantastic restorations this time round. That Jag is gorgeous. Id like to know how he managed to import it with the current regulations.

To the left of the mustang do I see a Volvo Amazon? Any more pics of the event? Especially the Karmann Ghia.

Trooper, where were you?
