FCCCI-Mumbai Drive from Bandra Sea-Link to Cafe Leopold, Colaba, Sun, 15th Dec 2013

A Lovely Sunday spent with Fiatians driving from Bandra Sea-link via Worli Seaface all over downtown Mumbai.
Pit stopped at Nariman Point for a photoshoot and chit chat to comply with the 5 F's where Annirudh and Kaizad stopped by with their Vintages (Packard & Merc) to check us out.
Then on to Cusrow Baug to pick up Feroze Mehta and surprise all the residents there with our beauties.
Finally ended up at Cafe Mondegar where we parked but since we were a bit delayed into lunch hours, Mondy's had no vacant tables and we proceeded to Cafe Leopold on invitation from one of our members Mr Cyrus Udvadia who gave us a good treat with a package that was appreciated by all.
Pictures will do the talking and hoping to have another one real soon.

Saw this on Versova Link Road. I've been seeing this car for a while, looks like it was recently restored.

Hi Rosso Corsa, I believe this pic was clicked in Andheri, right? Do you have pics of the rear?

Have seen this car a couple of times. At first I thought it was a Dukkar Fiat - but then the boot looked very different and low. Then i realised that it was a Select with a modified boot.

I was told it's a Delite with a custom fabricated boot.

Definitely not Delight (padmini shape) but Super-select/Select with the fins chopped off and the rear end "blunted" with older (elegant/'57) tail lamps fitted.

Re: Fiat Classic Car Club - Mumbai

Had a nice 'quick-meet' at Dadar five gardens today.

Myself, Hanoz, Behram, Rony, Cyrus, Danny, Indrajeet, Shezad, and the surprise visitor - Dr. Kannan, all the way from Coimbatore.

Was nice chatting with Dr. Kannan about his Millecento resto project in it's final stages. Behram sir gave us a lively tech-session on 'The Solex Carb', was very enlightening indeed - thanks Behram!!

As always - Thanks, 'President' for organizing the meet, and being the 'Life'

Enjoy the pictures..

Hi,

I was thrilled when I was told by Behram about the meet and I could join them at the meet. It was pleasure meeting you, Hanoz, Behram, Ronnie, Cyrus, Danny, Indrajeet & Shezad.

The one thing that surprises me always when I meet someone connected with Fiat is that, I may be meeting him for the first time but it is like catching up with some of your long time buddies, whom you have known for ages. You just click instantaneously, no inhibitions and chat for hours together. It was exactly the same when I met all you guys there in Mumbai. I never felt like an outsider, especially with you, Behram, Ronnie,Cyrus & Shezad(Yellow select) - excuse me if I got your name wrong.

Mr. Behram - he is an amazing gentleman, invited me to his house, had tea with his family and spent about an hour chatting about Fiat and ethics about work and fiat cars. If i had more time, i would have spent the rest of the day with him. Hats off to you Sir.

Really looking forward to meet all you guys again. Thanks for the hospitality. I really appreciate it.

I welcome you all down to Coimbatore and will be a pleasure to meet and host you all guys.

Thanks & regards.

Dr. Kannan.

Are you shure?

Please go to http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/vintag...-india-28.html post 420,

Then check out ""VCCCI Calendar for 2014 is full of events"" 3 & 4.

3) HMSCI in association with FICCI has organized a Rally to Lahore-Pakistan from 13th February to 16th February 2014. Cars will leave from Wagah Border to Lahore, a drive of 40 Kms and a display for 2 days at the Indian exhibition. 5 star hotel accommodation is provided free.

4) Our Annual Fiesta will be held on Sunday 16th February 2014 in Mumbai.
Entry forms can be downloaded from the website vccci.com or be collected from WIAA or VCCCI office.

So here is why I ask whether you are shure, dates are clashing, something is bound to be postponed. I am shure that the VCCCI owner will attend event 3), so he may postpone event 4). Is the FCCCI event a part of event 4)? Or would that also get postponed.

All very confusing and interesting, na?

Cheers harit

Hi Harit,

Apologise for the delayed clarification but at this point it is very certain that VCCCI Annual Fiesta is postponed to March and we are confirmedly blocking 16th February 2014 for the FCCCI-Mumbai annual Mega Rally which is independent of other events.

Details and timings will be subsequently updated.

Cheers!

Re: Fiat Classic Car Club - Mumbai

Hi Everybody
I had always wanted a Fiat in my college days,in the early 80's but my father never agreed to buying a Fiat as he thought that an Ambassador was a more versatile car as the ambassador could seat 5 in comfort. We used to have 3 Ambassadors all the same time and how ever much i pleaded with him to buy a Fiat he would not budge. It has taken me nearly 30 years to own a car which i always wanted, a 1976 Premier Padmini.I have given my best for the restoration and it took me nearly a year.Hope you guys like the final outcome.

Excellent! The number plates could be a bit better, I believe. You could try chroming the engine valve cover. Also, start a new thread regards to the car.

Did the Presidents & early Padminis share the same grille, as is evident by this car?

Cheers!
